Dear Tab Family,

Almost three years ago the MOPS {Mothers Of Pre-Schoolers) Ministry was born at The Tabernacle. We started with a leadership team of six people and the MOPS curriculum. I would never have guessed that a ministry could have made such a great impact on me as MOPS. Let me share two wonder-full stories.

The first year we had a mom who had no knowledge of what it means to have a living relationship with Christ. She had been raised in a denominational home but didn’t know Jesus personally. Her language was a little rough around the edges and we never knew what would come out next when she spoke. We began to pray for her and contacted her outside of the bi-weekly meetings. By the end of that season, everyone, including this mom herself, could see the amazing change in her life. When it was time for her to transition back into work, her greatest regret was that she wouldn’t be able to be with us any longer. We continue to stay in touch and know that God is continuing His good work in her life.

Another mom came to us on the very first day of MOPS. We had spoken prior to the start date, and she joined us for the opening. It was clear that she was very down emotionally when she arrived. Her full testimony is too long to share, but we all saw how God was working in her life. By the end of the year, she had a new confidence that we hadn’t seen before. Today, she not only attends our meetings but has become a part of our leadership team. It’s so beautiful to see how her smile blesses others when she comes into the room.

If you’re a MOP, we’d love to have you join us. We meet on the second and fourth Wednesday of every month, except for school holidays, and have married and single moms who attend. A typical meeting includes breakfast, a motivational talk, small group discussion, and a craft or community project. We share community with other moms who need our love and support, and of course, childcare is provided for your preschooler.

I’m blessed to be part of a living, growing ministry and look forward to what God will do in the coming days.

From a mother’s heart,

Mari-Lee Ruddy
